The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program, created by the American Kennel Club (AKC), is a 10-step certification, often considered the "gold standard" for dog behavior, testing for basic good manners in public, such as walking on a loose leash, accepting a friendly stranger, and staying calm around other dogs. It is open to all breeds.
