About Us

Knineprotocol was born out of compassion and love for Bruno, a two year old pitbull mix, with animal and human aggression history, after hiring a couple of dog trainers without any major change on his behavior, I decided to volunteer at my local rescue to learn from the trainers directly, got me a couple of books on dog training and so my journey started. Watching youtube, found my self lost in the waters of unknown concepts, spending hours consuming content, I decided to stick with a few personalities in the industry, like Cesar Millan, Jean Donaldson, Nate Schoemer and his mentor Tom Rose, Mr. Jeff Gellman and Larry Krohn, Joel Silverman and Joel Beckman. I was trying to decipher the science of dog training to finally help my troubled Bruno. I went back and forth between different techniques and tools, from simple clickers and treats, all the way to e-collars, experimented with empiric concepts like yin and yang training, simple concept but very divisive, all the way to complicated psychological construct like operant conditioning. I have tried it all, or as much as I can, to finally conclude that nature always has the last word, and we can only persuade their little minds for a few moments at a time. So now I take it slow, i realized it’s called training for a reason, there’s a lot of work and learning to do, There is nothing better than the correction the dog give himself. At the end of the day, when it comes to my training, it boiled down to many youtube influences and twoof the best dog trainers, Erin and Derek, from whom I got hands on experience. All this leads me to the conclusion that dog training is more than art, therefore there are many ways to get the dog conditioned, let me tell you this, and take it with a grain of salt, most dogs problems stem from a lack of leadership, discipline and structure. I’m not pointing fingers here, we don't all have to become dog trainers to enjoy our furry friends, so sit back and follow me, I broke it down to simple steps so you don't have to, but it’s still training, you still have to put in some time or your dog will revert back to what it was, and like many habits they come back even to a worst state.

Our Story

I was born and raised in Colombia, in my childhood dogs were on every other corner roaming the land freely, there was a few that had a piece of jute yarn tied to their necks, but that was as far as dog ownership responsibility will go. Dgs were not expected to respond to commands like sit pretty or play dead, or lets go to the doggy park. In 2004, I relocated to the United States bringing my salt and pepper schnauzer named Luna, she was a 2 year old wild creature used to establish her dominance through constant bark or bite if necessary, she was a cute but not easy to get along if you were on four. My good friend Chris, was reading a book by Cesar Millan, BE THE PACK LEADER, he let me borrow it, I implemented a lot of concepts from it, Luna and I learned a lot, to the point were we could finally go to the much dreaded Doggy park, we had a good run, little over 16 years. Fast forward to 2020, Brunos paws crossed my path, totally unprepared and with a death sentence creeping up after him, decided to start learning dog training. Researching online lead me to volunteering countless hours at the local rescue, I ended up learning more than I needed and found a passion in dog training, Bruno has overcome many insecurities and now excels on his dog training journey, you have seen him on our home page running through a kids playground like he is a toddler on a field trip, give us a chance, have an open mind and expect nothing but the best help I can provide you with.
